Design

Specifically designed for music, IT science, arts, crafts, and design and technology classrooms where high seating is the norm. As such subjects can invite hours of seated work, high chairs help offer a flexible seating position and leg extension that helps students focus on their work rather than discomfort and makes it easier to get up and down without causing disruption. These chairs will provide optimal comfort and posture to prevent students from straining or hunching over whilst they work, and ensure compliance with BS EN 1729:2016.

NP chairs are a particularly comfortable option for long periods of sitting due to the well-defined lumbar support back. This design encourages children to sit with a healthy posture by closing the gap between the spine and seat, preventing back problems in both the present and future. There is also a footrest incorporated into the frame to reduce pressure on the spine and reduce fatigue of the hip flexors.

There are 10 different shell colours available to choose the look that best suits your space, matches your school colours, or creates a colour code for each table.

Construction

Each NP chair is constructed from polypropylene – an easy-cleaning, hard-wearing material that can withstand frequent use and heavyweight. Considering the environments high chairs are typically used, polypropylene is the perfect choice for resisting damage from spillages or impact.

The anti-tilt leg style has been chosen to reduce the risk of accidents and prevent students from purposefully rocking. At a height where feet don’t always touch the floor, falling is much higher risk and much more damaging when it does occur, so safety is paramount – especially for the NP high chair. Its shell is not backed by the frame, which although more comfortable, means the chair has enough ‘give’ to slightly recline with the user when they lean back. With anti-tilt legs however, students can confidently lean back without the risk of falling, allowing them to benefit from the same comfort and posture of the standard NP chair without compromise. In comparison to stools, the flexible shell of this high chair promotes muscle movement and blood flow, in turn preventing fatigue and increasing focus over long periods.

The frame is constructed from metal for a longer-lasting base that will support the heavy weight without breaking – so long-lasting in fact, that each NP high chair comes with a 5-year guarantee for peace of mind!
