Just like its standard counterpart, the Chair 2000 is an extremely strong High Chair that provides unbeatable posture support in a classroom with its all-encompassing frame design. Like stools, the tall design of the High Chair is perfect for music rooms, science labs, or art classrooms – yet the shell of a High Chair offers a familiar comfort, lumbar support and style that stools cannot.
Design
This High Chair has been specifically designed for music, IT science, arts, crafts and design and technology classrooms where high seating is the norm. As such subjects can invite hours of seated work, highchairs help offer a flexible seating position and leg extension that helps students focus on their work rather than discomfort, and makes it easier to get up and down without causing disruption. These chairs will provide optimal comfort and posture to prevent students from straining or hunching over whilst they work.
The High Chair 2000 is designed with unrivalled posture support. The frame supports both the shell and back to limit its movement, meaning it won’t recline when students lean back, or become misshapen after years of daily use. Because of this, the well-defined lumbar support is always enforced, creating a healthy posture that prevents both present and future back problems. There is also a footrest incorporated into the frame to reduce pressure on the spine and reduce fatigue of the hip flexors.
There are 10 different shell colours available to choose the look that best suits your space, matches your school colours, or creates a colour code for each table.
Construction
Each chair is constructed from polypropylene – an easy-cleaning, hard-wearing material that can withstand frequent use and heavy weight. Considering the environments highchairs are typically used, polypropylene is the perfect choice for resisting damage from spillages or impact.
The Chair 2000 high chair uses a 4-legged frame that retains the classic look of a classroom chair whilst supporting the entire undercarriage. Compared to alternatives that attach only at the midsection, this construction is much more durable and supportive of heavy weight, and as highchairs are likely to be picked up and moved around a lot due to their environment, this is extremely important.
The frame has also been designed to support the shell at the rear to prevent reclining, with some ‘give’ at the upper back to increase comfort. Although reclining is safe with anti-tilt legs, a 4-legged design should instead prevent reclining to reduce accidents caused by weight imbalance. This construction lets students confidently sit back without the risk of falling, whilst benefitting from the same comfort and posture of the standard Chair 2000 without compromise. As many ergonomic office chairs are designed with the same principles as this shell, you can rest assured it has been constructed with your pupils’ best interests in mind.
