If space is at a premium, then the ever-popular elegant York Original chair is your ideal traditionally styled upholstered church chair. Available in both non stacking and stacking models and has all the manufacturing attributes of the York Deluxe chair.
This traditional solid beech framed chair utilisers comb and mortise & tenon joints for added strength, stability, and durability. This type of joint is decidedly stronger than a dowel joint and has been used for thousands of years to join pieces of wood, mainly when adjoining and connecting at right angles. The frame can be stained to match other items of furniture from within your house of worship.
The York Original chair features as standard a flat-topped prayer rail fitted over the curved back pad that gives it an elegant and timeless look, a kneeler/bookrack fitted below the seat and 2 stacking haunches/blocks which help the chairs to stack safely (up to 5 high) for easy storage and transportation.
The chairs can be linked to either form a straight row or in curves and armchairs can be stacked, only if they are the top chair.
Options include, communion cup hole, linking, PVC feet to protect polished floors, arms, curved/ book boxes, kneelers, spacer links including tapered spacer links to create curved seating and the choice of increasing the width of the chair by 1” or 2” wider to provide more elbow room as per your specific needs.
To help minimize the risk of damage to the chairs or flooring, we recommend that chairs are transported using a chair trolley. Chair trolleys make transporting stacks from storage to the hall/ room far easier, reducing time setting up and protecting the person/s from carrying chairs to and from.
